Kramnik: "You sure?"

Svidler: "Of course! I'm the Marshall expert."

Yeah, right. 😀[/b]
That could very well be true. I'm impressed with Leko so far - he rebounded after disasterous start, betrayed 1.e4, had guts to play Marshall and kept calmness in time troubles.

The final and deciding game starts at 15:00 CET.

Kramnik needs a win to retain the title.

Let's see if he comes up with something good or they draw again and Leko takes it!

What would be really interesting is if Leko goes for a draw - and ends up losing (ala Karpov in 1989)!

Looks as though that might be happening! Leko seemed to play the opening a little passively, and Kramnik has a lot of pressure.

In fact, Kramnik is completely winning - Fritz has him at +4.0 according to the official website. Amazing how difficult it is to draw when that is all you need, even for one of the most solid players in the world.

So Kramnik draws the match, and retains the title of World Champion (or whatever - World Classical Champion, I think!).

Yes, Kramnik wins the match by winning the last game. He now will play the winner of the Kasparov-Kasimdzhanov match for the overall unified chess championship. Too bad Anand wasn't playing, but maybe next time.

I think Anand is simply chuffed no-one recognises him as a valid Chess Champion for winning that travesty of a knock-out tournament a few years back. Quite sad, really.
