Ok, I remembered this one:

Two men enter a block of flats, they knock on every second door, then they swear and knock on every second door again. Then they get very annoyed! What is happening?

Are the men working?
Are they in uniforms?

Are they knocking only on doors with even numbers?
Are they knocking only on doors with odd numbers?

Do the the doors lead to apartments?
Are they looking for one apartment in particular?

Do they knock on the same set of doors the second time as they did the first time?

I'm an American, so I'm a little confused by what a "block of flats" is.

Are the doors that the men knock on outside?
Are the men related to one another?
Do the men expect someone to open a door?
Do people live behind the doors?
Are the doors standard size for people to walk through?

Did the men walk down one side of the street, knocking on every door on that side; then they swear, cross the street, and knock on every door on the other side, and then get very annoyed?

So it's a rectangular plot of land surrounded by streets on all sides filled with one or more apartment buildings?

sorry, "apartment building" would be the correct "translation" of apartment block.

id A building (usually multi-floored) with apartments in it. May or may not have shops (stores?) on the ground floor.
