A man walks into a building. He presses the button for the elevator. Once the elevator car arrives, he enters it and presses the button for the fifth floor. Upon arrival at the fifth floor, he exits the elevator and climbs three flights of steps to the eighth floor. He goes to a room and sits down at his desk and gets to work.
Later in the day, the man gets up and goes to the elevator. He presses the button, gets in the elevator, presses the button for the ground floor, and when he gets there, he exits the elevator and goes home.
Why did he climb the three flights of stairs on the way up?

Who is going to die? the man who woke up, or the man that he sees?
(the last "he" in the second sentence is ambigous).
Sorry, not a yes no question, but if you don't want to answer, I will try and phrase it so (although I do not think the puzzle revolves around this point?)
