Ok, so far we have:

There's a distressed man lying on a rock on land who isn't bleeding. He is conscious but not there by choice. He also cannot move because of some illness. He was not sailing, swimming, flying or walking just before being on that rock.

Does he have any bruises?

Re the immobility of the man, Is it that:
He can't possibly move?
He could theoretically move but doesn't want to?
