Why? Because I have so many photos of myself blinking at the exact moment the flash is coming. My eyes see the flash before it has come and blink just in time when the flash arrives and the photo is taken with my eye lids down protecting the eyes against the blinding flash. Hense so many photos is taken me blinking in the picture.
Makes sense, doesn't it?
It's quite the opposite. You blink because of the light. Your blink is faster than the camera shutter not the flash.
