If not, how come the flag's waving?
that was a special solar powered auto-waving flag they made up for the occasion. it was the seagull fly past in the background that did it for me.

What about the various landings all happening in different locations, but you always see the same mountain range at roughly the same distance in the background?

I ran into a moon-hoaxer a few weeks back, it was like talking to a small child. No point in arguing with these broken records. What's scary is these people are allowed to vote too.

When I meet one of these, it's like talking to a christian fundamentalist, a creationist, to a wall. They are not interested to debate, beause they know the truth already.

They say "You have to open your eyes, you have to learn to think for yourself and not believing the false gods that tell lies. Now, listen...".

There is no doubt people have gone to the moon and returned ... the USSR was in a position to monitor the USA activities and report hoaxes. There is no meaningful question there.

The question is: is there any point in going to the moon? It represents a potential energy well that must be climbed out of ...

Going into orbit of the earth (and slingshotting from the moon) is useful .... but do we know how to make use of the stuff that is down there on the moon?

The first manned lunar landings made no real use of the moon.

so what do you suggest. maybe we should store our nuclear waste there, or build a prison colony?

This coimment shows a lack of foresight. It will not be possible to explore, and perhaps colonise, space unless the first steps are taken.

One moon mountain looks like any other. Bart Sibrel, the moon landing hoax video maker, has also been caught showing film from the same mission and claiming they were from others.

This coimment shows a lack of hindsight. The moon was viewed from afar and then up close, then it was explored .... then we took our first steps there.

They left several groundbreaking experiments providing insite even today, one is the laser corner reflector, it allows scientists to measure the exact distance (within a centimeter or so) to the moon at any given time, still used today and with today's supercomputers are doing things like proving aspects of general relativity. That is one thing they did. But it is known that a lunar industry can be built up if nuclear fusion comes about (if and when of course) in that He3 is around in large (relatively large) quantities on the regolith of the moons surface, the moon dust can be just scooped up and processed to extract the He3 which turns out to be the easiest fuel for fusion reactors. Maybe a long shot but if the fusion projects actually ends up with a viable reactor then the lunar He3 will be a big attractor to setting up shop on the moon, it may even pay for itself, lending credence to full blown colonies. There might even be deposits of ice near the south pole of the moon, there are probes on the way that may be able to decide that issue. If it turns out to be true, a real colony would have a much better chance of independence on the moon, being able to make water and through electrolysis, hydrogen and oxygen, both useful for rocket fuel and of course O2 for breathing. Of course it has to be proven the deposits are there but thats what they are trying to find out as we speak.

If we never landed on the moon, the very same moon-hoax theorists would be screaming that we did land on the moon and that there is a conspiracy to cover it up. They're just nuts.
