No, it still stands, this is the point of the Aspect experiment. The EPR paradox was invented by Einstein et al. as an attempt to falsify quantum theory. It´s been tested and apparently you are allowed ¨spooky action at a distance¨ therefore the paradox still stands. Anyone claiming it´s been resolved really means that their pet interpretation of quan ...[text shortened]... for each possible set of combined outcomes. As far as I know Everett´s theory isn´t cannon yet.
My hypothesis is not so much that separate universes are created
but that each played out possibility influences the other.
e.g. a guy narrowly gets missed by a car but survives, later that
day a close friend feels unexplainably depressed.

You see the problem with multiverses is that there would have to
be a particular reason why we're in this particular one.

Taking on board the anthropic principle we could say that we are
in this particular set of probabilities because it is one of the only
ones in which a particular event will occur in the future.

Take the game of chess for example. Do all of the games of chess
have to be played out in order for the game to exist?

No, only the rules have to exist. If you etched every game of chess
ever played on one board, each path going 1mm deeper, you would
begin to see a pattern of shapes that reflect most played games
with other unusual patterns around the edges.

This is kind of the best analogies I can draw being a non-physicist.
