I would also support a separately calculated clan-rating system.

Or, for clan games only: since the website is already examining games on-the-fly for checkmate and illegal moves, maybe clan-game resignations could be disallowed unless one side was losing by 35 pawns (for instance).

K vs. The entire starting complement of one's opponent is a 39 pawn difference.

So one could only resign if one is being completely slaughtered?

Or no resignation possible once both sides lose five pawns worth of material?

Seems a bit extreme.

Why don't you take some time to think it through and propose a different threshold after some consideration?

It's a fair point. Since you have declined to offer a counter-proposal, how about this for starters:

No resignation allowed if you are a Queen or three pieces up over your opponent (in clan games only, of course).

In general terms: no resignation allowed if statistically you still have winning chances.

Of course you are not obligated to reply, and other people are free to reply if they wish.

It might help to prevent some clan games from being strategically forfeited instead of being played to a proper conclusion.
