I doubt Russ will close one account so you can open another account. What will happen with its games? Will they too disappear? No, I don't Russ will do such a thing.

Therefore some people get banned, when we (or mods) discover they have more account than one.
I know of several cases in which a person abandoned one account and started a new one with Russ' knowledge and approval, for various reasons. I doubt he'd be thrilled if lots of people would start doing it without good reasons, though.

Actually, in my situation, I get a lot of flack for the name "Very Rusty".
Probably rightfully so. I thought it was a great name when I thought of it, after a 10 year absence from chess.
If I still feel strongly about it when my time is up to re-subscribe my membership, I will drop Russ a note and inquire.
Don't get me wrong... I too there would be a way to change ones name to a better well thought one if needed. But I also see the problems with it, how it can be used in other purposes than intended.
I refer to 3(a) that says in its letters that it can't be done. But I also see that people are doing it. With Russ permission and help. And without Russ' approval.
I have proposed a solution that can fix the problem of an ill-chosen name.

A lot of these sites, like bank loans and credit cards, have different options at different prices. We already have guest (free) and subscriber ($30), why not premium ($40) as well? Offer $10 worth of extras, such as ability to change name, multiple avatars, a customisable MyHome page.

Maybe Russ doesn't like you as much as he does Freddie2008!!!!! 😛

The question was not directed to you, are you a spokesperson for adram?
If you want an agrument with me, just say so! Don't answer questions directed to someone else. I guess I will leave it at that, you don't want to know what I had said 😉 !!!
