I was going to email some screenshots of a firefox bug at low screen resolutions but then thought: why bother; a description will do just as well: so here goes for nothing:
When running firefox 1.0.1 (or 1.0) the red menu bar is truncated and does not show the "messages" or "games waiting" fields. Works fine on IE6 though.
System: win XP, running at 800x600

I'm seeing one row of text followed by one row of icons using firefox 1.0 on gentoo linux at 1280x800.

The fact that the second row renders fine means all is well.

Just when I was getting somewhere, some contracting work I need to undertake (to pay the bills) has started. This has slowed me somewhat, but I will still make progress over the next 2 weeks.
I even got my hands on a Mac Mini yesterday (at last!), and early testing is good. Mac IE 5.2 is a no-no though. That is one gawd awful browser....
Firefox and Safari all worked fine. (Any Mac users who use IE 5.2 please raise your voices now....)

It is a pleasure for me (beta)testing the site under Linux at university. But I just discovered something very cool: knoppix. It is a Linux distribution with all important (debian) packages AND: you can run it without installing, just boot it from a CD.
So, Russ, you could (just addiationally) download for free the image at http://www.knoppix.net , burn a CD, reboot your PC and use Firefox, Konqueror and other browsers to view the testpage.
Just a suggetion - I like this very cool idea! 🙂
Of course I will try out the site at university under Linux in the future as well.

Good call Thire.
Mozilla 1.7 & Konqueror 3.3.1 both check out OK.
The amazing thing to me here is that a few years ago nothing would work apart from IE whenever you did anything even slightly interesting.
How that has all changed, so good job browser developers.
