I don't think keyboards have a lobby, so you can abuse them as much as you want. But if you overwork your mouse, you'll get into trouble with the animal rights activists.

Maybe both types of activist have different goals. The animal rights activist want to stop the production line of animal breeding, while instrument activist would engourage such increase of production of instruments...
To save keyboards ask friends for there old ones when they get a new pc with a free one or upgrade to wireless. Then you can type all day long safe knowing that when you wear your keyboard out you have 5 spare in your loft the same can go for mice. I have 3 spare mice its just throwing them away seems like a waste and the are only small.

Instrument rights activists are against mass production, maltreatment, and murder of instruments. So the goals are not so different.
