This icon means well but I find is not too useful. What about a statistic instead - just some simple formula like (average number of moves per day) = (total moves)/(days since joined)?
I have my Move Frequency Set to Once a Week, even though if a formula was applied, I'd probably be more like Once a Day. I wouldn't want that in my profile cos if I did want to play slower, some guy could take offense and say that my profile says that I move daily, when now I'm only moving weekly.
I've no problem with an additional statistic, which shows actual move frequency.

Isn't this information already replicated in Moves per Month from the MAP this Month table? All we do is divide the number of moves by games in progress and by days this month.
Would be inaccurate for a short period at the beginning of each month though.
Actually I'm all in favour of more move statistics available on the profile page. I'm sure that the site could provide a wealth of information to help us match up to similar players based on our move habits - preferred move time (morning, evening etc), average moves per game, average moves to checkmate.... the possibilites are endless. If there is a demand for these stats I'm sure Russ could work something out...

Originally posted by invigorateNo but it gives an approximate answer. If you played an average of two moves per game per day over a long period of time you could say that an average game for you would take around 20 days of your time (average game being 40 moves).

If you play some long timeouts and some zero timeout then of course that will skew your average but some guideline is given.
Originally posted by HindsteinYou mean, in a graph as with the current games? I would like to see that. E.g. day 1 with a bar reaching to 23 moves, day 2 with a bar reaching 49 moves, day 3 17 moves, et cetera. Gives a nice indication to the speed someone plays for the last few weeks.
