Are our sent messages no longer being kept?

If the other person deletes them from their in-box they disappear in your sent messages. This is how I understand it.

My understanding is that they vanish after about 40 days, they get a fading envelope sign after about 30...

In fact there are fading messages in my out-box...so my assumption was they work the same way, which would make sense from a coding point of view.

Not sure I understand that one since from time to time I'd like to see what
I sent, it does not matter to me if they still have it in their in box or not.

I would like to see a button to delete sent messages. I'm a team captain and my out box is loaded with sent messages that I would like to delete.
