I thought that some might find this interesting. I believe that one of my clan have passed on i.e. are now deceased, so consequently he's stopped moving (many months ago).

For his last clan game he is playing against somebody who has also now disappeared (last move in March) so how do you get around that one, as if they have both died neither will be skulling the other, except for possibly in the great chess club in the sky?

I'd like to recruit but can't while the impasse continues .

Any thoughts or ideas (other than don't recruit old gits) ?

Couldn't you just kick him out of your clan?
Also send him a pm explaining why.
I doubt he'll reply

@venda

Even if you kick (which I did) until that last game is completed the system reads him as still a member.

Do you often kick dead people? 😄

Russ said he going to run some timeout system for clan games, guess he hasn't yet. Say that's the only way here.

Ah.Didn't know that.
I suppose you can only kick people out if they constantly make themselves unavailable.
Russ looks on here so he should be able to sort it for you.

It was a shot he will have played thousands of times.
Just lack of concentration I think.
Did anyone notice any dodgy looking bookies in the crowd?

Probably hundreds of thousands. Just bottled it, rushed the shot and got carried away by the occasion.

Was unlucky in the last frame as well, balls just didn't break for him.

@medullah send an email (Help above, then Send Feedback) to Russ. He'll take care of it for you. Or tell you how to do it.

@medullah,

There are rules for pretty much everything except what happens if someone dies. I brought that up in another posting recently. There are more chances of that happening as there are a lot of us older people on this Site. Going on 20 years for me, and none of us are getting any younger.

A Rule should be made as to what happens if a person dies, to their games??? Not fair to take the points away as the person is deceased, unless the game is lost on the board. Then who would decide that???

I have been in lost positions where I actually ended up winning those games because my opponent made a blunder!!!!

@Very-Rusty

Thanks for your thoughts. A petrified game because of a death clogs the system up, and prevents recruitment.

Maybe the game could be adjudicated, or the two clan administrators can some to agreement? Leaving it to sit there for some distant timeout isn't very satisfactory.

@meddulah,

Pete,

I concur something should be done in the event someone passes. No one likes to talk about it, but we have had many deaths on this site where games are just left hanging. I don't know that is fair just to lose those points because the person is no longer with is. Eventually it is going to happen to all of us.

I think this something Russ should look into and decision should be made on what to do when a person passes. Especially in Clan Challenge games, which some clans do take seriously.

We could, in advance, let our clan leader know we were going to kick the bucket.
