"It's not that everyone is out to get you, it's just that everyone is out for themselves."

-Whodey

Even if true it's best not to think like that.

Even if it's true it is best to always remember that.

I disagree with the statement, altruism has fomented some amazing things, take for example open source software, free operating systems and some of the most powerful and versatile programs imaginable, simply because someone was not concerned about themselves.

Dear, dear Robbie,

For we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God.

That is not to say that we do so 24/7.

He that is without sin, cast the first stone at Whodey.

You may portray my life to be miserable if you like, but I prefer the truth no matter how painful it may be.

In the end, it brings joy.

Where I'm a security guard at. People ask me for money all the time for the bus. If I gave it to them I'd be giving close to six dollars a day to people. So I always say no. And some black dude said people are always out for themselves when i didnt give him money. he was homeless. the homeless get free ride where i live. But I always think from my wife and kids about the money not myself. Even some Hispanic ask me for $5 for cigarette once, lol what a joke and he was drunk too.

APOLOGY

I did not mean to portray your life as miserable. Your outlook is
your outlook and presumably it's the best choice for you.

That way of thinking would make my life miserable. I prefer
to assume people are good until proven otherwise.

Its not about you Whodey, its about altruism being a better motivational force than capitalism. I simply disagree that people are so self absorbed.

Thats a hell of a lot of money to give away .. $6.00 a day!! The nerve of some people to ask for all that. Plus you are saved already. No need to show love and compassion for the needy .. they can go to hell right?

Oh, so now capitalism = sin. LOL.

What about socialists Robbie? Last I checked the appeal was taking from others to redistribute to people like yourself. Yep, there is no greed there because it comes no where close to what the rich make, right?

Hitler used to rail against capitalism and imposed stiff taxes on the top 4% of the wealthy on Germany and created a massive welfare state. I don't presume you think he was a saint Robbie.

I prefer looking at reality rather than the way I wish things to be.

Like I said, it's not always pleasant, but in the end it's best.

I have not said its a sin Whodey, what I have actually said is that altruism is a much more powerful and pure motivational force. Please try to comprehend what you read Whodes.

It is a temporary affair. It cannot continue forever.
