In honor of the absurdity of the Spritiuality ex Debates forum, I would like to start a new thread of quotes.
Here are the rules for allowable quotes.
1. First, the quote must make an assertion that would originally be a position to legally debate in Debates.
2. The word 'Spiritual' or 'Spirituality' must be substituted into the quote for one or more of the original words of the quote.
3. The substitution in (2) should yield a new quote that remains grammatically correct, and also makes its meaning, possibly now nonsensical, illegal for the Debates.
4. When citing the author of the quote, 'Spiritual' or 'Spirituality' must be incorporated in the author's name.
I'll give one example next to get us started.
Dr. S
"It (spirituality) is my land, my home, my father's land, to which I now ask to be allowed to return (the debates). I want to spend my last days there, and be buried among those mountains. If this could be, I might die in peace, feeling that my people , placed in their native homes, would increase in numbers, rather than diminish as at present , and that our name would not become extinct in this forum."
Geronimo Spirituality in a letter to Ullysees Grant
"Each organic being is striving to increase in a geometrical ratio....each at some period of its life, during some season of the year, during each generation or at intervals, has to struggle for life and to suffer great destruction.....The vigorous, the healthy, and the spiritual survive and multiply." Charles Spirituality Darwin
The atheists, meanwhile, will concievably be made to feel
unwelcome from posting their point of view in both the debates
forum and the spirituality forum. -- Rwingett, commenting
on the non-spirituality of the atheistic 'point of view.'
Edit: I think I didn't follow the rules, but it's my favorite quote this
week.
