I was just wondering, are there any absolute truths we can all agree on? I will start with one of the Biblcial truths I have found to be true which is "The root of all evil is the love of money".

Here is a brain twister for ya. Instead of asking what is truth perhaps one should be asking what is'nt truth?

Edit: Is it just me or are the truth threads taking over RHP forums?

But what if I don't want to be the Buddha? Maybe I want to be the Dali lama? Or is that pretty much the same thing?

Edit: You know those Eastern Big Whigs confuse the Confucius out of me....or perhaps I should say in me.

If that is an absolute truth, how could the devil's existence have preceded the invention of money?

What is the root of all money?

Ok, Ok, I will try to be serious for a second. What does the love of money represent? Why is it sought after? Can it bring one the things that made Lucifer fall?

I thought the verse said, "The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil". That makes more sense. If you say love of money is the root of all evil, you rule out evil done for other motivations, like revenge, or sheer hatred.
