"Trust and let go" would I think be the Christian response.

Maybe it's not time yet for you, and that's fair. Don't rush on my account or anyone else's.

To "let go and let God" must involve a certain level of trust that people have to work up to.

I think Christianity both appeals to strong egos and perhaps might be most beneficial to strong egos, but at some point I think there is an aspect of letting go and trusting that one will be caught and sustained involved.
