Who is to say that the 5 JWs did or did not have inspiration from god or Holy Spirit gifts?
How do you know??
In fact the vast majority of ones who wrote the original writings of the Bible were average everyday men that were not overly educated even for their time.

If inexperienced in the original languages Greek and Hebrew that would concern me because how can we trust this NWT ?

If he didn't then why would he do that now??????????????
1 Corinthians 1:27
New Living Translation (NLT)
27 Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.
You should know that there are scriptures that states that God laughs at the wisdom of so called wise men.
So if he does and works with the so called unwise, why are you guys having a problem with our Bible? Because of the men who compiled the NWT for us?
According to your Bible you should see the wisdom in God's deciding to use the less educated men of the world. Right?

Now do (we) you and I have a full understanding of Greek (Konie Greek) and Hebrew ? No. People who have gone to school to learn these languages for a reason. The reason being so that the biblical text could be understood and translated into other languages. So in spite of your understanding that education is BAD you are wrong. God does not condemn educated people and I thank the scholars and people who are capable of understanding the ancient languages for our sake.

The Apostle Paul was an educated man and well guess what? God chose him to write more than half of the new testament so your not correct on that either.

And no God does not condemn education. But it's the prideful and Godless education that he laughs at especially when man says he knows what is and isn't inspired by God such as the NWT. How would any man know what God is behind or not? Many things in the world are accepted by the masses but we know God does not approve of them.
I would think to say what God does and doesn't promote or approve from his stand point is foolish.
Originally posted by galveston75Ok well in the case of the New World Translation at best it's just another English translation of the bible ok whatever. At worst is is a twisting of scripture to what the Watchtower believes and the followers of said. ok

Just because your Bible may be accepted by the majority does that make it accepted by God?
Most of God's dealing with mankind in the past and the ones he supported and dealt with have always been in the minority compared to the world. Am I wrong?
Did Jesus himself say his Kingdom is NO part of the world, and that is how his followers were to be? Aren't the main stream Christian religions all supported by the Goverments, military, local establishments, police, etc, etc?
The Bible also says that a friend of the world is an enemy of God.
Anyway getting back to the point which is the majority of the world does not accept the NWT. I wonder why? Maybe because it is a not a Bible from the WORLD and from it's majority?

This is an example of what I was referring to as truth twisting.
It actually says the following:
“My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then
My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the
Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.” Therefore Pilate said
to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say correctly that I am
a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world,
to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice."
(John 18:36-37 NASB)
The NWT adds "NO part". It is not there in the Greek. Also notice that
Jesus said that if His kingdom was of this world His servants would be
fighting a war against the Roman soldiers.

have to add to the scripture to twist its meaning so to make you think
you are not to participate in the governments of this world? And also
that Jesus is against war of any kind in this world?
Originally posted by RJHindsIt doesn't twist it in any way. The meaning is still there and there are many scriptures all thru YOUR Bible that very clearly explains God's viewpoint on the world.

I'm more then positive you will not understand this and I can't wait to see how you twist this scripture.....
James 4:4
New Living Translation (NLT)
4 You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.

about why they are having quarrels and conflicts among the members.
He tells them it is due to their pride, envy, and lust after the material
pleasures of the world. They ask God in Prayer for riches so they can
spend on pleasures of this world and they do not receive because they
ask with the wrong motives.
Now you pick up with verse 4 where James condemns this love of the
material things of this world as spiritual adultery. This covetousness is
a form of idolatry making them unfaithful to God because they should
love Him first and above all other things. This worldliness is an enemy
to the love of God. The world does not refer to planet earth, but to the
system used to satisfy the lust of the eyes, the lust of flesh, and the
pride of life. They can not serve two masters.
There is no attempt by James to prevent them from serving in political
office or in any branch of the government to help make things better
for all.
