    Rubadubdub, where's the rub?
Been a Christian since I was a cub.
But I'm all grown now and I see sense.
Ain't no angels coming to my defence.

You got to see that you're on your own.
Be strong now because you're all alone.
There ain't no great spirit in the sky,
It's all a myth and I'll tell you why.

These pastors and priests don't care about you.
They would wipe you from the bottom of their shoe.
Money is the reason why religion exists.
    All those churches makin' lists.

They want your mind and they want your cash.
donate your wages to their stash.
Fancy quotes that you think are cool.
why don't you all wake up fool.

Perhaps your pariah status is the result of karma?

Is everyone your friend? Do you have good things to say to people when you meet them? Are you normally of good cheer? Or are you a dour fellow, content to keep to himself? Perhaps even grumpy to people on occasion?

Something... something about "what comes around goes around"?

I just love yanking your chain Suzi baby.

I knew that you or someone else would respond to that.

There's no offence intended to anyone.
When I wrote something similar recently
Kelly Jay came in and said she was offended.
You may have done too I can't really remember.

But all I am doing is trying to inject a bit of fun and
light hearted humour. Don't take offence.

I'm a nice guy really. Raised as a Roman Catholic lad
the last of four sons in a good honest upright God
fearing family all of us trying to do our best here
in dreary old wet and cold Dublin.

    Don't hate me.

    I don't hate you and I don't take offense.

That doesn't mean that I don't marvel at people who are so sure there is no God and who then display how they are self-centered, pessimistic, sometimes downright mean and nasty to other people.

If I was that lost, and that devoid of faith, maybe I wouldn't believe in God, either. You reap what you sow. It really is that simple.

Edit: btw, I thought KellyJay was a dude. I must've missed something along the way.

I may be self-centred, but much less so than in my earlier life. Getting married and having a family has certainly made me much less so.

I am certainly not pessimistic. I have never been so optimistic about the state of the world (which is why I always wade in when galveston75 presents his despairing view of the world).

I don't think I am mean and nasty to other people.

Yet I am further away from a belief in God than I have ever been. And in part that is because of the religious views I see represented on this forum.

Maybe I am reaping what others are sowing.....

    p.s. Maybe KellyJay was.

    🙂

I honestly don't know if Kelly is a girl or a guy.

    mean and nasty to anyone.

Kelly is a popular name for guys also (at least in America). I believe it is slightly more prevalent in the South.

Wikipedia calls it a "unisex name". You'll be interested to know its origin is Irish.

Well, you would do well to distance yourself from some of the atheists in this forum, then. Just like I regularly maintain that not every Christian is the victim of a crappy education, with an IQ hovering around 80.

The name "Kelly" does not belong to any gender. I like to educate the ignorant. 😏
