I posted this in the "puzzlers" forum but now I realize, there isn't much traffic there. In case anyone is interested:

Just for fun... a puzzle of my own design. My first. Hope I didn't screw it up.

Black plays f7f5, threatening the queen.

Spell out what you think is white's best move, using only letters or words.

This was pretty easy. You should create one that’s more difficult, maybe even a mate in two or three.

Not bad sir, though en passant solutions are a little cliché in puzzles. (It's often the first thing one looks for).

It occurred to me that the coolest checkmate ever would be an en passant discovered double checkmate. So I built a puzzle around it.

Definitely easy, but a marvel to look at imho

An interesting checkmate for sure, but as a puzzle, something of a wet kipper.

I'm sure no such checkmate has ever occurred. At least in recorded chess.

Not bad for a first try. The double clearance of diagonals is aesthetically pleasing.

Why thank you sir. Gold star for not being overly critical due to the "easiness" of the puzzle which might not be so easy for everyone. It was just in fun, as prefaced.

Now. Let's get back at each others' throats about something.

Let's talk disparagingly about the white hat in your avatar.

    No idea.

Replace it with a picture of Mr Burns from the Simpsons.

    Edit: Do it immediately!
