In response to sonhouse's link which claims some similarities you claimed a 'utter and complete non resemblance to the Biblical account'. So I am merely asking for clarification as to whether you are arguing that the article sonhouse linked is inaccurate in its listing of similarities or whether you find the similarities insignificant. I think your answer ...[text shortened]... writter of genesis did not necessarily know of the sumerian account despite 10 similarities.

Perhaps you have more knowledge than the trustees of the British museum?

Originally posted by VoidSpiritNo it isn't. The Torah has always been known as the five books of Moses because Moses wrote the first five books. According to Jewish tradition the Torah was dictated to Moses by God, with the exception of the last eight verses of Deuteronomy which describe his death.
the writer of genesis is anonymous.

Wrong. Of course they would shore up the biblical tradition, they have to if they mean to keep on getting those millions they need to stay open.
I suggest our Biblical friends read the many books by James Pritchard covering the Biblical Near East - it was required reading in the school I did graduate work at. Wait...why would they want to read something by a very educated man when one can learn from a misguided 16 year old in ten minutes - silly me.

Silly me? Silly you. You claim to be a Christian but also claim that you seldom go to whorship. If you were a real Christian you would realize that you cannot be a Chrisitan without being in fellowship with other Christians. BTW - the Christian God is not your very own personal God - are you aware of that?
