@KellyJay saidThat wasn't my downvote (at time of writing) but I see it a different way:

From my understanding: If one allows Christ or the Holy Spirit in [digression omitted], then no armor is needed.
I see a parallel between this Christian armoring against opposition, and (for instance) gay people defining themselves in opposition to the controllers and bullies and vilifiers in their cultural surrounds.
@Arkturos saidApparently, though, Christ was against this kind of hatred against others.

@Suzianne saidWhy are you so combative, especially against someone so mild-mannered?
Go ahead, KJ, tell him what you unashamedly told me on more than one occasion.
As if salvation was yours to give.
I have this notion that text, divisions, and combativeness (and booze) are closely interrelated (I'm sure this general concept is not new with me).

@Suzianne saidThe Christian faith unfortunately has produced a lot of contradictory text which might perhaps obscure some simple, non-erudite fundamentals:
Apparently, though, Christ was against this kind of hatred against others.
"Love your neighbor as yourself, and if you can't love yourself, put on your own mask first" (something like that).
And: "Abide in Me and I in you."
I'm not a Biblical scholar, but maybe it could also be said that something is better than nothing.
@Arkturos saidAnd insecurity and low self-worth from you.

Keep going, maybe you'll beat the odds and see the light.

Timely advice.
