I think I might have started a similar thread some time ago -- and peace to the benevolently practicing Christians in our little cohort (whose influence I do find beneficial) -- but it seems to me that Christianity paradoxically both appeals to the egocentric in some cases and mitigates egocentrism in other cases (maybe there's some overlap -- God might be helpfully tricky that way 😉 ).
What do you think?
What does God think? I'm sure some of you believe you know (and it seems some of you are certain you know).
What should God have thought instead? I imagine some of you are bursting with suggestions.
Yet another true joke from yours sincerely,

But some passages in the Bible are open to interpretation (especially if viewed in isolation) so I think that’s what leads to disagreements and what may be viewed as egocentrism instead of a strongly held position.
@kevin-eleven saidI think you’re assuming facts not in evidence, counselor.
Would this also be true of other Christians on other planets in other galaxies, though?
Make that conjecture not in evidence.
@pb1022 saidAll people base their views and opinions on everything around them; you have a point? I believe in absolutes, and as such, there is an absolute authority God. Can I read the scriptures and get it wrong? Yes, can I read them and get it right? Yes. Can I look at the universe and be mistaken on what I'm looking at? Yes, and I look and get it right, yes. You have absolute authority in your life outside of you, or are you your own?

@kevin-eleven saidI don't think I disagreed with him.
@PB1022
I'll be keeping an eye on how you treat @KellyJay.
@pb1022 saidIf through Christ all things were made, then why not?

On how many other countless planets and venues of existence might little sprouts like us understand both the inner and the outer, the sublime as well as the manifest?
@kevin-eleven saidHow many years has SETI been up and running? Any evidence - outside of probability, which isn’t evidence at all - that intelligent life exists somewhere else in the universe?

Everyone (seems to me) who assumes intelligent life must exist somewhere else in the universe based on probability is an atheist and evolutionist.
@pb1022 saidI'm pretty sure that everyone who believes in a Cosmic Intelligence thinks It is omnipresent.

Who are you to set imaginary limits on the God you pretend to believe in?
