church so boring, read the writting on pews then everbody thinks your praying
The church is not a building on the corner. She is a community of people within whom the Spirit of God lives. And she is coordinating and cooperating with Christ to end this age and usher in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
The church is a farm on which God is growing Jesus within people. The church is an organic structure arising out of the old creation to become the mingling of God and man.
To serve the church by being taken over and filled with Christ is the highest calling I could ever imagine. Before coming to the church life was a vanity to me. Life was futile, vain, empty, and self glorying.
Being a constituent of the church of the Lord Jesus has ushered me into the eternal purpose of God. God is recovering the church today. The church is the human dwelling place of God:
"Being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone, in Whom all the building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord; In whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in spirit" (Eph. 2:20-22)
You should read aloud chapters one through three of the book of Ephesians and let God give you a revelation of how wonderful His church is.

Please elaborate.

Our church meetings are very exciting. We do not have a clergy laity set up. Rather we practice "All saints prophesying" meetings. Each person is given about three minutes to teach, testify, pray, share a word of encouragement.
We encourage all to speak as the Apostle Paul said "You may all prophesey one by one."
We have responsible elders. But th ...[text shortened]... r month, year after year IS BORING.
So we came back to a more biblical way of meeting.
Originally posted by darvlayReading the Bible aloud is not some mandatory law. It was a suggestion based on much experience.
Why aloud?
Why? Because there is a fierce spiritual battle going on over your being. The major battlefield is the mind. Satan is bombarding your mind with distractions to keep you from receiving revelation from the speaking of God in the Bible.
It helps to read aloud to focus your mind on the word of God. But what is better is to mix your reading with praying. As you read you pray back to God what you read.
You muse on the word of God.
You speak it with a sense of prayerful digestion.
Please do not try to misunderstand me. Try to understand me. I am not saying reading aloud is the only way. But we are in a warfare of a spiritual nature. To focus the whole being on the words of God sometimes is helped by reading aloud the Bible.
Reading softly to yourself prayerfully is also effective. You have to let the word of God penetrate through the thick clouds of the fallen world which cloud our being in unbelief.
Our minds resemble the planet Jupitar, swirling with violent storms and winds seeking to drive us away from Christ and from God.
