According to answers.com a demon is:

1. An evil supernatural being; a devil.
2. A persistently tormenting person, force, or passion: the demon of drug addiction.
3. One who is extremely zealous, skillful, or diligent: worked away like a demon; a real demon at math.
4. Variant of daimon.

Numbers 2 and 3 most definately have access.
As for daemons - they run the internet.

Numbers 1 and 4 are just excuses people use when they dont want to take responsibility for thier own actions.
