Israel is now (since 1947) a modern state.
Israel has been the name of the Jewish people for quite a bit of time prior to its adoption as the national name.

I did not state that it was only Christians who persecuted Jews. I did not say that. I did not think it. I did not imply it. I did not insinuate it. Christians (who) have been persecuting Jews for 2000 years is a sub-group.

So, as you should be able to see by this point, your statement was--- as stated--- partially true.

Like I said before, if you are not aware of the strains of Christian culture, politics and theology that have contributed to the Christian persecution of Jews over the last 2,000 years, then I can assure you it is a fascinating and disturbing topic and suggest you read up on it.
