Paul's certainty that Christ was Lord came from him witnessing Christ being woven into his personality, transforming him.

Jesus said that when He entered into someone He would manifest Himself to that person. He manifests Himself by dispensing the personality of Jesus into the receiver's personality. Through patience and obedience the receiver witnesses himself being transformed into the image of Christ.

This changing of the believer's being is persuasive that they are indeed on the right track.

Now that is interesting. You start a thread with an impressive display of original thought, (that is quoting Voltaire). Like a wise man of few words, ( or an experienced Internet troll ), you use a few words to go back and forth about you doubt or you are certain. (???)

Seems like the one acting the huckster is you Joe.

"Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, a conviction of things not seen."

Unlike Voltaire, there was never a need for retreat in Paul's writings.
