Build your own foundations after you do some studying.

If you get it right we might enlightening you on what the building looks like.

btw there's more of the footings to go through before you arrive at the point where you get to construct the foundation and you aren't nearly ready to build the building yet.

I bet you are closer to the Spirit than any of the Christians that post in this forum.

Have you ever read anything by Milan Kundera, by chance?

How can that be as only one of the judges felt he won the first round of the sermon competition?

Difficult since he who denies the Son denys the Father who sent Him.

Btw I'm saved too., but only because I don't smoke and drink and dance the hoochie-coo anymore

    John 5:22-24 (New International Version)
22Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, 23that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.

24"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

You can define a true Christian any way you want, it doesn't matter
to me, but if you do it without the sure foundation that God has
laid down you are just making it up as you go, and when the storms
of life come your way as they do for all of us your beliefs will come
    crashing down around you.

Politics of the Roman Empire , altered the faith for it's own use, and the early church bosses liked the power that gave to them so they rooted out the true christians and remade the religion to suit Constantine.

And the proof of the pudding , as history shows, is the RCC's power grabbing activities, just ask Luther,Bruno or anyone else murdered by churches that follow the New Testament.

Btw nothing in the Old Testament that contradicts Christ is valid and never was. Paul notwithstanding.

BTW this is a thread about the footings that underly the foundation of Christianity and even Christianity isn't the last word about the Spirit that is the basis for everything, Although if you seek it in Christianity, you may find it, but you have to remember there's been a lot of tampering with the trappings.

Well I have nothing to do with RCC, if you have scripture that is I
guess untainted so you can show me what Jesus really did say I'd
ask you to produce it. If you are complaining about people doing
evil in the name of Jesus I agree that did and does happen, but
that is their problem when they come face to face with God over their
own hard heartedness and evil deeds, that has nothing to do with
how we are to walk before God honoring the Son who was sent by the
    Father.

When did I say they changed Christ's words? They didn't have that much moxie, however the Gospel of Thomas does have a few more and also is a lot closer to what Christ said than anything Paul wrote is his attempt at keeping the old religion.
BTW the father ( El ) in the old testament isn't the one that sent Christ, if indeed any god did.

From what little I have seen of that gospel I'd disagree with you,
it may be closer to what you want Jesus to have said, but that is as
far as you can really take it.
