@secondson saidOK. So, Belief. Worship. And.. What else is required to fulfil God's purpose for you?
Infinitely more.
@secondson saidSo, what would you add to the sentence in the OP that mentions belief and worship?
But God created you for much more.
@secondson saidThere are billions of t-shirts/WhatsApp Status photos out there that state things that "everyone knows". That doesn't mean that the question in the OP does not still stand.
Everyone knows there's more to life than just work.
@fmf saidWhat's missing from it?
"God created you in order that you believe in him and worship him and if you do, you will have everlasting life".
But what's missing from it?
Correct structure. Sequential thought process.
"God created you..." in His image and likeness.
God alone is worthy of worship. Belief in God means trusting Him. God is life, and there is no life without Him.
Faith in God's Word is all that is needed. You can call it a requirement if you like, but "requirement", to my way of thinking, has legalistic inferences.
The law was nailed to the cross. There's a better way, an easier way, to a relationship with God, and that is through the Son.
"Do this and live the law demands
But gives me neither feet nor hands
A better way the gospel brings
It bids me fly and gives me wings"

@secondson saidYou're talking in a woolly fashion about belief/faith here. And you mentioned worship. They are the two givens. What do you think you are adding with the stuff you've typed above? Bare bones, as the OP requests: Obedience? Anything else?

@fmf saidYou simply don't understand. You think you do, but you don't, because if you did you wouldn't keep looking for the answer to the question you're posing.

Listen and think in the following terms.
Salvation and eternal life are of God. That means what it says. Not of works, not of obedience, not of performance or rites or rituals or anything anyone can do in any kind of religious fashion whatsoever.
Let the concept sink in. It's just too simple, and just that easy.
God doesn't "require" anything from anybody. Only faith, or belief if you will. It's the only thing one can do without doing anything. Think about that!
@secondson saidThe goats of Matt 25, and Christians like yourself seem to be heading to hear these words from Jesus :

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat:
I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
I was a stranger, and ye took me not in:
naked, and ye clothed me not:
sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
(Matthew 25:42-43 KJV)
Their crime was that they think that nothing is required for eternal life.
God requires good works and righteousness.

When you begin to understand that, then you'll begin to understand grace.
When you die and stand before God and He asks you why you should be allowed entrance into heaven, your only plea will be that Jesus died for your sins.
If you give any other answer you'll be cast into outer darkness.

@secondson saidNot really interested in your rantings about your church doctrine.

Tell me what Jesus said.
Only a true Christian can do that.
PS there is no reference in the bible that state Christians go to heaven when they die. Your church teaching is riddled with errors and false doctrines.

Gee... I wonder how many good works, and acts of righteousness, that the thief on the cross next to Jesus did, before entering Heaven with Jesus that day?
What you think? Please tell us?

@kingdavid403 saidIm sure I already said that Jesus is the judge and only Jesus can know these things. I do not know the man. Neither do I know the sheep and goats of Matt 25. Jesus knows. I have made my points pretty clearly and with supporting references.

Formulating a doctrine around one event or on one sentence is a very foolish thing to do
PS there is no reference in the bible to any Christian entering heaven after death.
@secondson saidSo, the statement I suggested in the OP is fine as it is, no additions, only belief and worship are required for the reward of eternal life? If what was suggested in the OP was ok, just say so.
