Fountain of various types are in the bible. Fountain of life is in the bible. “Fountain of blood” is NOT in the bible.
What kind of fountain do you think the prophet was speaking of in Zechariah 13:1 ?
"In that day there will be an opened fountain for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for impurity." (Zech. 13:1)
What do you think that fountain is of ?
I’m pretty sure it’s a reference to the fountain of life mentioned elsewhere.
Within the life of God is the work of God.
Within the work of God is the redemption that God accomplished.
And that redemption was through the blood of Jesus.
"For this is the blood of the covenant, which is being poured out for many for forgiveness of sins." (Matt. 26:28)
I am sure the fountain opened for sin and impurity has to be the redeeming blood God incarnate poured out in establishing the new covenant.
'But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately there came out blood and water. And he who has seen this has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he says what is true, that you also may believe." (John 19:34,35)
Fountains of life, living water, etc are mentioned through the bible. A “fountain of blood” is not mentioned once, anywhere.
So I will go with what is mentioned elsewhere in the bible, and you go with what your fellow church member wrote.
I will go with what Zechariah the prophet said combined with too much of the rest of the Bible including John 19:34.
The fountain is the redeeming blood without which there is no forgiveness of sins.
Hebrews 9:22 - According to the law, in fact, nearly everything must be purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
-Removed-You hesitated on what the fountain was that Zechariah prophesied about.
You said you didn't know. Then you took a best guess that it was the life of God.
I am sure the fountain opened by God for sin and impurity is the fountain of the redeeming blood of Christ.
The Holy Spirit makes the truth real to the receiver of such a gift. So in that sense I could say it is in His life that the reality of redemption is made effective in my heart.
But before God as in "When I see the blood I will passover you" the fountain for sin and impurity has to be the poured out blood of the Son of God.
"Fountain of blood" does not have to literally appear in the text.
It is obvious that the blood of Christ cleanses man from sin and impurity.
Your brand of unitarianism may be more dependent on humanism and far less appreciative of eternal redemption.
-Removed-Unitarians reject the trinity.
That's what you do only making sure your definition of the trinity is three gods - tritheism or a three headed idol that you saw somewhere.
Humanists have no need for the redemption of Christ.
I would not say you are an atheistic Humanist though.
I am sure you are the former - unitarian
I think you may also be the latter - a deistic or theistic humanist
@divegeester
Anyone who lives forever and ever is an eternal person.
The Son of Man says He lives forever and ever. (Rev. 1:18)
Explain how a temporary person lives forever and ever.
Divegeester,
The word of God says that Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and forever.
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, yes, even forever." (Heb. 13:8)
That includes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God - "even forever".
Your false teaching is the Jesus Christ is not the Son of God forever.
Your false teaching is the He is the Son of God only to the end of the millennial kingdom.
