@rajk999 saidIf you compare the New King James Version it records the age of Ahaziah as 22, not 42 years. Looking at some of the reasoning behind this there are notes on the internet to the effect that the age of 42 is thought to be a copyists error.
Here is an error in the bible.
Story of Ahaziah .. One says 42, another place says 22 :
Recorded in Chronicles
Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Athaliah the daughter of Omri. (2 Chronicles 22:2 KJV)
Recorded in Kings
[i]Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah ...[text shortened]... i]
For Christians who claim the bible has no error, how can this error be explained or justified.
Apparently there are both Greek and Syrian old versions of this manuscript that translate as 22, which seems to support this view.
Your welcome 😉
Most of the other versions that I’ve looked at also translate as 22 not 42.
The best copyists error that I ever heard of was in the translating of the king James when the person concerned omitted the word “not” and got heavily fined for it, rendering the commandment as “thou shalt commit adultery”.
Maybe that was the Mormon version? 😂
