If we think something disagrees with what God says, then it becomes
a suspect for error. So if our understanding of what the Holy Bible
says is correct, then anything that contradicts it must be in error.
But above all we are interested in the truth. We must stand up for
the truth, even against science until it can be proven true.
So you believe your god is doing its best to flummox mankind by making everything wrong and only the bible is the correct way? Why only some things are wrong? You don't doubt that 2-2 is zero. You don't doubt we are using computers which is the product of over 100 years of science and engineering.

You don't doubt the science of cancer treatment.

You don't doubt the science of radar.

Everything is fine in science, nothing speculative unless it interferes with your built in dogma which was spoon fed to you as a child when you really had no choice but to accept the brainwashing inherent in any religion.

Then all of a sudden, carbon dating is pure speculation in spite of 100 years of research. There is nothing in carbon dating that is so esoteric as to be beyond the ken of mankind. We make nuclear reactors, that proves we know an awful lot about isotopes and chemistry and nuclear physics. Nothing speculative in those sciences for you. But something as simple as carbon dating, off limits. Verboden, pure speculation.

Modern civilization has gone so far away from the precepts of the bible you can't even tell the difference between fantasy and reality. Hey, if it helps your weak nature to need the crutch of religion, so be it, but it still is a crutch no matter how you look at it.

I bet you still don't know what that reference to 42 is do you?

You have had your head stuck up the asssend of the bible so long you have forgotten how to really live.

You keep repeating this lie that josephw and I say the carbon dating is
"pure speculation". We have never said it was "pure speculation". We
know that there is science envolved and josephw said he believed it was
overated. I said there was some speculation that went along with the
science, but that since there has been numerous errors in dating with
C-14 that we need to eliminate the speculation before we accept it as
100% accurate.

Crutch or not, I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God to teach us.
That does not mean that every story in the Bible has to be 100%
scientifically accurate to teach us these lessons. You say the scientist
say "such and such" is true so I will believe it. I say I will believe God
first and science second. That is just the way it is.

I do not care what "42" refers to. It has nothing to do with my question.
It is only a diversion

Well, when you get cancer you can call on your god to cure it.

My wife had breast cancer. Our God put us in contact with a Doctor,
who says He believes in God and prays to God for all his patients. He
told us as He was explaining how a woman's breast works that God had
made a particular thing in the breast for only one purpose. This is when
I first realized that this doctor believed in God.

I can't prove it. But it was either that or just a big coincidence. However,
it happened, it was good for us. So we thank God anyway.

Well I hope your wife survived, it's a terrible disease.

Here is a new look at cancer, as a new species, which may help in the fight against this terrible killer:

Yes, she is okay. It was caught early and there was just a small
portion of her breast had to be cut out and she still has to complete
radiation treatments.

I know a lot of women panic and have both breasts removed prophylactically which is a shame, they have to live with that for the rest of their lives.

Yes, she broke down in tears when she first got the news. But everything
seems to have worked out okay, so far.
