Does Jesus or God, or anybody say anything funny in the Bible?
Originally posted by @stellspalfieYes more than one but sharing right now is impossible I will share a verse I would not want to read in church and some I thought humorous when I get home.

Originally posted by @stellspalfieI would not say that out and out jokes are in the Bible. But jokes are usually humorous because of the element of surprise. I think many people will smile or even laugh at a number of places in the Bible that contain surprises.

One example is In the story of Jacob and his brother Esau. It is hard not to grin or laugh at their reunion after years of feud, hostility, and desire for murder in Genesis.
We're not told that Esau has forgiven Jacob who terribly cheated him as boys. Jacob, terrified to meet him is surprised that after years of being apart Esau falls on his neck with affection.
The story is one that always makes me laugh or smile.

No one in the bible says anything meaning to be funny, but humor can be found in the bible.
In a contest to see whose god was real, Elijah taunted followers of another deity, when they were unable to get their god to perform a miracle:
"Elijah mocked them, saying, “Cry aloud, for he is a god. Either he is musing, or he is relieving himself".
