For every belief there's a reason.
Why do some people believe in ghosts? Because for some reason that makes sense to them.
Why do you believe Ouija boards actually work? For some reason that makes sense to you.
    But what sense?

Because they are indoctornated as children normally.

    Good question.
You can answer that one, not me.
I would guess your socialisation as a child made it easy for you to believe. I teach kids and its pretty obvious that our parents have a huge influence on our beliefs. We believe stuff because they tell us its true. (For a while at least.) After a while, some beliefs become such a part of our subconscious, that we can easily live with them without questioning them.

Now your just asking for it. Surely theres a possibility that you are not smart enough?

Whether or not you believe in ghosts etc you can still determine whether someone is faking something like communication with the dead. Just because ghosts exist it doesn't mean that anyone claiming to be able to talk to them is actually doing so.

You are right to think this.
