another thing I don't understand
God knew Adam would eat the forbidden fruit being all knowing
so evidently God did not want us in his garden for long anyway
Not he really didn't. Where do you see that said in the Bible?
Anyway check this out and see that he doesn't. He can control events to make his plans work but no he does not see into the future...

we use science to predict
what has religion ever predicted?
Predictions are limited within a past, present, and future frame work, and also limited to this universe as is. An Eternal God who isn't limited by time or space is eternal in all areas. He by far is the most interesting One in all of reality, getting to know Him is the task that eternity itself will be required.

We are now limited by the confines of living in the present moment (NOW), and we are limited to the confines of this life, in which we are only here for a short time. I think growing in knowledge about all things is one of the most important things we can do, but if you miss the source of it all, then it all turns to ash in the end passing out of this life to next, and you either go there prepared in grace, or not, that is a prediction religion makes.

I'm going to borrow a couple of things I have heard others say, I want to say Ravi Zacharias, but I'm not completely sure.

Without choice you cannot have true love, God could had made robots programmed to only do what He wanted, but God is love, not God loves, but is love so He knows what is real or not. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirt have been in perfect loving harmony forever in a loving relationship with each other, and God wanted to make us in His image.

Someone who could love as God does, also had to be able to not love too for it to be real. One of the complaints against God is that He is holding a gun to our heads now saying love me or else, but we are here with many of those rejecting God now, it is their choice, their desire. So He is giving us the ability to choose, and He honors the choices we make.

It doesn't mean there are no consequences for our choices, He shares with us what occurs with either choice, but we are given the dignity to make up our own minds what we want and its honored. In the end the cares and sorrows of this life, the pleasures, the ins and outs will reveal what we are, and if we really choose God or not.

Scripture teaches us that if we seek Him with all of our hearts we will find Him, and He will work on us to conform us into the image of His Son, but many don't care one wit.

We have all done things we need forgiveness for, He paid the price for our forgiveness and He tells us we need to forgive others as He has forgiven us. It pretty much sums up God, He tell us to share what he gives us, forgiveness, love, acceptance, grace and so on. Those that are living to a different drummer if you will, will doing other things attacking others, finding faults, being hateful, demanding things they themselves don't do.

The next life will be eternal life without evil in it, quite different than this one. If you ponder what would an eternal God want do, what would be worthy of an eternal God to do? I don't think it has or can enter into the mind of man what that is, I cannot even wrap my mind around music in an eternal kingdom, a beat requires time doesn't it, and if there is no time?
