I had second thoughts last night.
In O.T. times they killed of the whole family when some guy stole something out of Jaraco or however you spell it. So if a man rapes someone I say kill him. But not his family. For an eye for an eye.

Why not just chop off the offending body part? That would be the literal interpretation, I'd think. Why let him die? Make him live forever with what he did, but incapable of repeating the crime.

That hardly prevents a repeat. Artificial equipment works in lieu of the real thing. (This is pretty much the standard rebuttal to this argument - "It's all about power"...)
