Greed and power. Giving money to someone who is destitute is only a temporary fix. Give him the skill set to work for his keep will reap greater rewards.

I'm talking about the able bodied not the poor in spirit.

Do you think that if the Chinese hadn't discovered gunpowder we would still be using swords, or the nuke?

too many people trapped, yes, but if they can change their thoughts and attitudes, perhaps they can recognise and accept the effort and helpto which you refer.

    Greatest Human Achievement ?

Maybe to say to God "You're Right and We're Wrong."

    Repentence.

This is, for me at least, the most positive thread I've had the pleasure of posting in. Not because I started it, but because I enjoyed it. I liked every ones replies.

Even that one about repentance? Come on, that one was kind of contrived, wasn't it?

Well, that one was in the present tense of course. I guess I was looking for what has already been done.

Just think what could happen if the whole nation was to repent of all the wrong that has been done. Think of what it could be like if we all shared a common vision. But sadly we live in the real world.

Listening to God and love. Life is temporary, but the afterlife is forever. Regardless of what man invents, creates, builds etc...It means nothing once your gone. Don't get me, it is good to do all those things, and more. But you only get to enjoy them while you live. Once you past on, that to passes from you. So I believe it's where yo spend eternity, that's most important. So without God eternity can be very harsh. So I put no other God before Him, and I try to love my neighbor as I love myself. God bless you all in Jesus name.
