Happy now? It's meant to be Oliver Hardy (notice the predictably short tie), who together with Stan Laurel, Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin make up my favourite foursome of humour. When I require a stress-break I just need 20 minutes of those fellas to have me crying with abdominal pain. 😉😀

I hope I didn't ruin your impression of me for ever. :'(

I know and like many christians (except for the sanctimonious 'holier than thou' brigade). I guess ScotishNZ and I were hoping someone would take up the case for the defence...and then the fun could start.
I'd love to take part in the fun should someone take up their cause. I wonder... do they do Internet debates?

Hey, I was just kidding. I like you anyone you are, Halitose. 🙂

Oh, I remember now. Oliver Hardy and Stan Laurel has made many movies together where they're friends. Right? I remember seeing them as a kid and laughing a lot. In Sweden they're called "Helan och Halvan", which directly translated means: "Whole and Halve". I can't remember a single movie now though. 🙁

Charlie Chaplin on the other hand I remember very well. He's absolutely unforgettable, the good ol' tramp.

Buster Keaton? I have no idea who that is. 🙂

While you may consider them un-Christian, they will be only too happy to tell you they are the only true Christians. They will present you with bible passages that they feel confirms it. I sincerely hope you take the time to peruse their websites, as Christian dogma is eminently capable of creating the Westboro Baptist Church. ...[text shortened]... ight call Fred Phelps "nuts", but he has not called for the WBC to cease, desist and disband.[/b]
The definition of Christian entails being a follower of Christ. If they could take all Jesus' actions and teachings and conclude that "God hates fags" etc, etc. then they have a serious reading/comprehension problem. Jesus was known as the one criticised for socialising and showing compassion to the sinner (they seem to have a conflicting definition with that of Christ -- I can't for the life of me understand how a dead soldier qualifies as one).

The WBC has freedom of speech protection under the First Amendment to the American Constitution and a tax-exempt status.

The wonder of liberalism. Isn't it great? If the government can allow the vilest self-expression under the guise of "art", I can't see how they can frown on this.

Lol. The altered personality was fun while it lasted, but it's good being back to my old self.

Keaton was one of the good old silent-comedy trailblazers. I guess he doesn't match up to South Park for sheer, unbridled "laugh-at-it-however-you-can", but I find his physical comedy and film techniques from the highest order (for its time).

Edit: Calvin & Hobbes being my favourite cartoon of course.

That's as it should be. Stupidity will, in a sane world, be paid little serious attention and thus needs no censorship. An insane world deserves the presence of stupidity.

Sometimes I wonder how sane this world really is. Fair comment, nonetheless.

That gray face on a gray background? Hard to miss. But, like I said, you have way too many different styles in writing and conflicting opinions.

It's a joke, me mistaking everyone without an avatar for the same person. Yea, I know, not very clever, but could be fun if you really wanted it to be. 🙂

I saw it on a website and just thought "why the heck not?" Always thought Lenin was cool too! Communism, great in concept, crap in reality!

Yea. That's true, I guess.

Lenin was always considered a good guy, wasn't he? It's only half a century after his death that certain letters started to reveal how horrible he really was, I think. :

If you take the OT, literal or not, without the perspective given by the NT.
One would think that if the OT were divinely authored/inspired by an omnipotent, omniscient God, then the OT could stand on its own accord.

Doesn't the NT 'perspective' say as much?

Matthew 5:17-19

"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."

Besides if God is all-good (or just extremely good), why would He require the NT filter in order to be able to understand the OT? It makes it rather easy for persons such as Westboro members to get led so far astray when the literal interpretation of God's words is so thoroughly deranged, demented, and wacky.
