Naturally, Islam and Judaism are completely different scenarios, and I think that non-theistic religions or largely philosophy driven religions are different.
If someone offers a sacrifice to a demon, it is not a reflection of them as a devil worshiper in any normal sense of the word. It is far more nuanced. It deals with the idea that they have been deceived and worship a false god.
This is a common belief of Chrisitans historically, and it is affirmed by the Bible.
