We saw the 3D version. Best use of 3D I have seen.
Recommended for the spiritually minded (book or movie).
I won't try to hammer home the spiritual points I saw in this movie.
See what you find. Or what you prefer to see.
Also the movie is a visual and aural treat. And, after a leisurely start, lots of action!

you read it if you don't cheat and read the end first...after the last chapter
you want to read it again.

It did get a bit science fictiony with the living island and all.
Great book I thought. Wife in hospital so can't see the movie for a while. Hope it still is out when we can go.

Actually I put a clue in my OP and am glad if it is too well hidden. But I suggest you refrain from looking further for clues. It might be more rewarding to discover it in the movie.
In what sense is it spiritual, if I may be permitted to ask?

The living island was ...weird ... what was that symbolic of ? Any thoughts?
Probably wont see the movie as I cant believe it will match up to the book.
