God has given you a heart and a mind Kelly and probably expects you to engage both of them when you come to scripture. This is not for the purpose of distorting the word of God but understanding and connecting to its true meaning.
Scripture makes a distinction between the things of God and the things of man. It is also taught in scripture that without the Spirit of God, we will not grasp the things of God. This is why I agreed with what you said!

That's why I said an atheist comes to scripture 'without' emotion.

No he doesn't. He comes to the Bible (if you can GET him to open one) with truck loads of preferences and emotional baggage.

Objective reading with no particular vested interest emotionally ? ... not too many.

Who are you to forbid anybody anything?"

Now you're saying what I was basically saying.

@divegeester

Considering we are all born atheists it’s amazing anyone becomes a Christian.

Right. Smack a newborn baby on its behind to make it breath, and immediately out comes -

"Oh, I just want you all to know that I lack a belief in gods."

You are the one claiming knowledge, I was wondering where you got it from?
You ever going to respond to my questions to you, or just run off without
answering them, again?
