Did you gather that information from personal interviews?
All we are doing here is sharing our personal perspectives about ancient Hebrew mythology. Neither of us can conduct "personal interviews".

The chief attribute of God is love. As image bearers we have that capacity - to love and be loved.

And the list goes on. That is what it means to be made in the image of God.
Amen!
God is Love; that's Scripture.
Since our fall and separation from God, I feel that not showing Love to all others as we should, is one of the biggest sinful faults in us since our fall. Started with ole Cain and Abel. Things changed much after our fall; this being one of them. This includes Christian or not; God's law is written on our hearts, Christian or not.
Great post.

The gospel according to fmf.
I don't see why you are calling it a "gospel". It's my analysis of what the words in the title of this thread mean, as requested by KellyJay. You labelling it a "gospel" doesn't do anything to address what I said.

Earth to rajk999, no one is saying the Bible is more important than anything except you. What we are saying is that it is the revealed word of God that apparently you hold in disdain. You don't have a written record; then it is all word of mouth; check truth statements on that!? The printed word is a much better way of communicating truth than word of mouth; it is easier to ...[text shortened]... ays going on about what is and isn't in the Bible, you should at least treat it with some reverence.
God has written his laws in the hearts of people. Apparently Christians got left out.

I agree. It was a joke; mostly. Thanks for sharing your analysis; it is educational; and, it clearly rings true throughout history with all the false Gods. Thanks for sharing.

A "joke" premised on the fact that you wanted to somehow make it about me because you didn't have anything much to say about what I had posited. As banter goes, yours is weak.

I think my analysis would ring true for any or all religions that declared that humans were "made in the image" of their central God figures.

I guess you missed my point. Or you're dodging.

You said "...ancient authors of Hebrew folklore were not able to make sense of their own consciousness in any other way."

You can't know that! It's merely speculation.

God spoke, and somebody was listening. That's how the scriptures came to be. That's not my opinion or speculation.

You're free to choose not to believe it.

Wrong again.

Find "made in the image" of God in any other texts.

You're blurting.

It was about you because it was your opinion and analyses. It was not so much banter, as it was a joke. Weak banter it is.

Of course it is "speculation" as in: it's my subjective opinion. As are your assertions that the Genesis account is literal and that what happened is just as the scriptures say it happened.

That's your opinion and you have every right to it. 🙂

It was a figure of speech. Like an idiom if you will.

But because you got nailed by it you're going to make a mountain out of a mole hill justifying yourself.
