loving your enemies

Religious love is often borne out of sufferings and hardships. Of all the persecutions the saints had to, they exceeded in giving thanks to God. Not only was it demanded of them.

I don't love my enemies. I quietly plot their destruction.

Yes it is the natural tendency, Christianity is surely unique in this regard to pray for and love ones enemies.

Christs enemy was Satan.

So should we love Satan.

It is a nice idea, but i'm not sure i have it in me to believe in such things as soulmates (in the 'predestined to meet' sense). 5 things i would very much like to believe in, but am unable to due to an innate requirement of tangible evidence:

1. A supreme being
2. Soulmates
3. Alien life
4. Bigfoot
5. That Disney will make a success of the Star Wars franchise.

Actually the admonition was given to Christians with regard to their enemies and those who were persecuting them, but you would need to read and understand the bible for that or you could simply continue to make your own stuff up on a kind of drool as you go basis.

Actually Robbie as the whole lot is made up I might just do that.

Hell (no pun intended) I could start my own religion just like men have been doing for the last six thousand years.
PS Robbie I am also a blood donor. Does that mean I go to hell in your religion or is that reserved for the child with cancer who got my blood.

You silly little man.

I find any sufficiently evolved ontology includes this . i can't find any direct quote from bhuddism but there are a few examples of loving ones enemies from Guatama's life.

First of all Jehovahs Witnesses don't profess believe in hell making your questions quite absurd. Seriously do you know what its like to battle against ignorance and prejudice? its very very tedious! Me thinks you need to learn to distinguish between the beliefs of different religions and denominations, you seem to have a tendency to lump them all together.

I believe there is, however I am not going to hunt for it.

Many powerful lessons were taught by JC just by the way he lived.
Setting an example is more powerful than laying down some law
