Your description of the key mainstream, or peripheral doctrines in Christianity is "a bit like adding apps to a computer or power ups to a video game" does have some logic to it in the structural sense, however your missing one key element, and that is - who you truly believe Jesus is, and what he did for you all those years ago. Without this key element, your "apps" contain only data.

Oh, BTW - You're apps that suggest being a Christian in some way restrict your free will need some modification. Just remember, no one is forcing you to go down this path. 🙂

Confidence in oneself can be deadly. Especially if it undermines God's Word.

I'm glad you felt the need to come to dives rescue though. Perhaps you can advise him concerning his misanthropic attitude against those that disagree with him as evidenced by his response to suzianne above.

It seemed to me to be little more than low-grade trolling in response to a pretty interesting OP. Short shrift was what it deserved.
