I would not use the word contradictory, I believe He is the Truth, Life,
and the Way not me. So if we are all off by our errors, He is the only
correction out there for all of us. I have to trust Him over me, I don't
want to look at another equally flawed human, but the one that isn't
flawed. With respect to what he shows another and not me, I imagine
that is because s/he may need it and I either don't, or don't yet. On top
of that, we may not being doing everything we should be or more than
we should, another reason to keep my eyes on Him and not another
sinner for my example. If one lives a great life and I do fashion myself
after them, than I hope I do it as they are following Christ.

I don't try to correct Christians here as I see fit, mainly because of the
log in the eye scripture. If I feel like I should I will, but I won't as a rule
unless I feel led. They get beat up enough by others here and each other
for me to bash them too.

I'll try to make this my last question in this thread directed at you.

If someone comes to you and says, "God told me to tell you ____________________" where the words I've left blank are not something you have heard from Him--but you also haven't heard Him tell you something that would be in opposition to whatever it is--are you inclined to take the advice just as seriously as if you heard it directly from Him?

Just as off-the-cuff examples, a fellow congregant at your church tells you that God wants you to give $5,000 toward some fancy windows for the sanctuary, or that you need to move to Minnesota, or that you are going to be in a car collision next Wednesday if you drive your car anywhere.

I'd ignore him, unless conditions were met.
The God of scripture made our ears, he knows how to get a hold of all of
us. If God was prompting me to do something and I ask God to help me
know for sure it was Him, and that occured. I'd take it seriously.

People ask for money to do God's work all the time, I'm not incline to
help any of them if they have to beg for it, I wonder why they are doing
    it.

There are causes I support, that share needs, and I do respond to them,
but not all. It is no different in life you do what you know to do is right,
and if you are not sure pray about it. God can let you know one way or
another, if you get nothing you do what you feel is right.
