I think it safe to say that everyone needs to feel or believe they have a sense of being right, or having a rightness in themselves.
All men seek from without those things he needs to survive, but it seems though, that man thinks he can obtain a sense of rightness from within and from his own efforts. Man reasons within himself that he is justified of himself and by himself, that his cause is righteous.
Man can't feed himself, he needs the fruit of the earth. Man can't add one wit to himself except he look without, but of righteousness he seems to have an abundant supply within.

In reality man does not know what is best for him and he needs to be instructed into the truth of his existence.
He needs to know that he is an eternal spiritual being and that this world is not his true home.
His true home is in the spiritual sky with Krsna / where everyone lives for eternity in abundant joy and never ending peace and in full knowledge.
This is truly what man needs to know.

This does not mean that the values are worthy of enshrinement.

Honesty and Truthfulness first.
Everything else [like irreverence and hostility] last.

And you got all that from this ?
For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:20 NKJV)
Got anything else?
