I did but they must have some basis, that i could not find the basis does not mean that it does not exist.

So porn can be addictive and that can be bad. Just like alcohol. Okay, we already covered that. I'm in agreement.

So, now what? Should it be forbidden?

What's your point with this thread? That porn can be a bad thing? Anything else?
I agree with both you and robbie: porn can be a bad thing.

its too prevalent and has already entered the 'common culture', its just like drinking a beer, driving a car, isn't it. My point was to discuss the veracity of the claim that pornography is destructive. No one cares, its just like driving a car and drinking a beer, who cares if its addictive, if people lose their jobs, their families, its just like drinking a beer.

What about people who don't believe in God?

I think porn can be destructive.

If that's true, then all the unsubstantiated opinions you complain about must also have some basis.

What Biblical principle does watching pornography contravene?

Porn Usage Statistics – What’s going on?

There are an estimated 420 MILLION porn web pages online.
72 MILLION people use internet porn every single month – 30% are women
70% of men aged 18-34 use internet porn at least once a month
25% of search ...[text shortened]... race nor the manners or the decency to respect that then perhaps this is not the thread for you?
Can you source these statistics? By which I mean the original source, not the fact that many websites have just cut and pasted it like you.

I have not said they are unsubstantiated, quite the opposite, i have said that they must have a basis.

Are there substantially more porn addicts than alcohol addicts?

If so, should porn be treated like, say, heroine and should it be forbidden?

Its impossible to forbid it, its already far too prevalent. People will simply find a way. I cannot say if there are more or less, but according to the statistics that I provided, there are millions of porn addicts.

So when you say something is 'unsubstantiated opinion', you are actually acknowledging that it is based in fact?
