My 10th grade religion class, taught by a priest newly from Ireland,, went much better than this thread has gone.

True story: One day, the teacher tackled the difficult topic of dancing with girls (this was a boy's school).

He said we should be three inches apart.

A classmate raised his hand and asked, "Three inches from what?"

That has been a lifelong theological question for me.

Of course I thought that I might be able to introduce the thread in a way that would make things go differently. If there is such a way, I didn’t find it.
