I heard 3. Actually, what I heard is that our years are off by three because when the figuring was done a king and his 3-year reign were left out.
EDIT: Actually, I think that Herod is supposed to have died circa 4 B.C.E., and so that is the earliest date--but I will do some research now...
I don't know for sure...I probably shouldn't ask questions I don't know the answer to, at least in this thread 😛 ...
Anyway, next question.
On a solar calendar, how many days is it from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday?
A. 40
B. 12
C. 46
D. 100
What is the name of this period of time?
A. Advent
B. Ramadan
C. Lent
D. Pentacost

Please tell reader1107 that if I were not happily (indeed blissfully, wonderfully) married, I might propose to her...
...and that she would be wise to refuse (as she undoubtedly is).

See you tomorrow...and I'll pass on the news... 😉
BTW...that's also all from me for tonight, too...I'm exhausted.

Both reader and I try to answer these questions without looking them up—however, I did consult my wall calendar on the Lenten question. And I have to admit that my initial response would have been 40 days...

I was busy working. 😛
Lent does have 37 days in the Roman calendar (because Sundays don't count as part of Lent) and
then three days of the Triduum. (Yes, I know you asked about the solar calendar....) In the Eastern
Church, 'Ash Wednesday' (which they don't celebrate) until Holy Week is called 'Great Lent,' but
the penitential season actually starts on Septuagesima with some restrictions that increase over the
weeks until the big ban on just about everything edible (it seems) on Shrove Tuesday. The season
is also 'forty' days, but they include Sundays but don't include Palm Sunday and the Saturday before
(Lazarus Saturday), but they start on 'Shrove' Monday.
Of course, vistesd could elaborate more on this, given his Eastern proclivities (it's so damn complicated,
I swear......).

Which of the following is not one of the seven sacaments of Christianity?
A. Communion
B. Baptism
C. Ordination
D. Penance
E. Profession
If you are Roman Catholic or Orthodox (or Gnostic), then E.
The Protestant branches of Christianity don't acknowledge C or D as Sacraments.
I wouldn't be surprised if the happy-clappy Christians deny Communion as well.
